The Honorable George W. Bush,
President of the United States of America
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
The American Libyan Freedom Alliance (ALFA) salutes your
decision to extend the sanctions against Libya for another
year. From day one, ALFA has worked hard on making the case
that Gadhafi cannot be trusted, and we should always be
vigilant and firm in our dealings with him. Our conclusion
is borne out of our direct experience with Gadhafi's regime
and his secrecy in all his national and international activities.
His admission to have availed chemical and biological weapons
to terrorists should not be a reason for rehabilitation
to the international community, but a cause for prosecution.
Mr. President, we were most impressed with your analysis
and conclusion that tyranny in the world is vastly responsible
for the scourge of terrorism. Therefore, we look forward
to working with the administration and congress on drafting
a legislation that would only allow sanctions against Libya
to be lifted after the creation of a free and democratic
government in Libya that respects the human and civil rights
of its citizens.
Respectfully,
Mohamed M. Bugaighis, Ph.D.
Chairman, American Libyan Freedom Alliance
